The JUUL is the first pod vape system introduced in the market and the first to introduce nicotine salts in the vaping world. JUUL has strong ties with Philip Morris and it is one of its main investors. The JUUL is a small, lightweight design which makes it great for vaping on the go. It has a strong aluminum case, making it pretty durable. The JUUL is a great vape for those who are looking to quit smoking and replace cigarettes.
The Kit Contains:
The JUUL pod system starter kit contains:
- 1* JUUL rechargeable device
- 4* JUUL Flavour pods
- 1* USB charger
- 1* User Manual
Design and Material:
I really like the design of the JUUL. It’s small and it’s sleek and it’s lightweight. It fits between two fingers like a cigarette and weighs basically nothing. You can take it anywhere, just in the pocket of a pair of jeans.
It comes, basically, in black or silver, both of which are nice colors. Many other colors are offered as limited editions, and you can also buy hundreds of vinyl stickers which you can use to personalize your JUUL however you like. I have the black one and I think it looks cool. I know some people prefer to be able to personalize a bit more, so the stick on decals are the way to go.
Size and Weight:
I like the size and weight of the JUUL a lot. It fits almost perfectly in the palm of your hand. It’s never cumbersome to carry to with you and is actually much more convenient to bring with you than a pack of cigarettes.
It weighs almost nothing. I like this but I know some people prefer a device with a bit more weight to it. If you’re used to a box mod, this is going to seem tiny. It all comes down to personal preference. If you’re looking to replace cigarettes, the size and weight of a JUUL are perfect.
Battery, Power, and Charging:
The JUUL has a really cool magnetic charging system. The charging base plugs into a USB port and the JUUL clips into it with magnets. The magnet is strong and it can be used in any kind of USB port.
The battery life isn’t great. Often, I find mine running out in the course of a night out, which is incredibly frustrating and has actually lead to me smoking cigarettes to make up for it.
Tank/Pod:
The JUUL takes pods that hold around 0.7mL of e-liquid which, let’s be honest, is shit. JUUL pods are expensive and they run out quickly. That’s the bad part. The good part is they come in a massive variety of flavors, most of which are pretty delicious. The liquid also packs a decent punch, with a good throat hit and a nice nicotine buzz. It’s also possible to refill the pods if you’re willing to play around a bit.
Coil:
The JUUL’s coil is inbuilt into the pods. It’s capable of producing a decent-sized vapor cloud and a very intense flavor.
Airflow System:
Pretty typical for a pod system. There’s a slit down each side of the pod that allows air to flow through.
Usability and Coil Installation:
The JUUL is really great in terms of ease to use and simplicity of design. To use it, you just need to drag. No buttons, no menus, nothing remotely complicated. The pods are simple to change. You simply remove the old pod and insert a new one, press it down until you hear it click into place.
Insulation:
Great insulation. I’ve never known a JUUL to over-heat, even after extended periods of heavy use.
Software:
Very minimal but everything you need. To check the battery life, you just have to tap it twice and the led will show either red or green. Same goes for charging, when it’s ready, the light turns green.
Price:
Expensive. The starter kit is expensive in itself and the replacement pods are crazy expensive. This is where the JUUL stops me from being completely behind it.
