Vapor Storm PUMA 200W TC Box Mod Review

Vapor Storm PUMA 200W TC Box Mod Review

The Vapor Storm Puma is a powerful device available in a series of funky designs, all made from lightweight ABS material. It is designed to be used with DL (direct lung inhale) tanks, as you do not need such powerful devices for MTL (mouth to lung) tanks.

The Kit Contains:

The Vapor Storm 200W TC comes with the and micro USB charge-cable only. Batteries, tanks, coils, and e-juices are all sold separately.

Design and Material:

The comes in a large range of graffiti-inspired designs. Some people will love them, some will hate them, but they’re certainly going to get you noticed. There are too many designs for me to list them all here (I added a picture), but they’re all equally garish and loud. This is a statement vape.

The device itself is made of lightweight ABS material, meaning it’s a tough little fucker. You could drop this and it’s very unlikely that you’d do it any damage. The screen is small, presumably to stop it from being easily broken, but it does make it a little irritating to try to read.

The is of an ergonomic design, meaning it fits nicely in the palm of your hand, but you need pretty big hands to fit this comfortably in your hand. It’s large and it’s solid. However, the shape does make it more pleasant to hold than a regular device of this size.

It features a front-facing charging point, an over-sized fire button with a nice a click to it and a magnetic battery door. The magnets that keep the door on are pretty weak and it’d be very easy to lose the door.

Size and Weight:

The dimensions of this are: 80.7mm by 40.3mm by 40mm, which is by no means small. The is a powerful machine and it has to keep that power somewhere. Really though, for a machine this powerful, the weight and size aren’t too bad. The lightweight material means it doesn’t weigh as much as it might otherwise. It also depends on the size of the tank you choose to put on it. It can easily carry a tank up to 25ml, which is really going to start adding weight.

Battery, Power, and Charging:

The can produce power up to 200W, and it requires dual 18650 rechargeable batteries which are not included, so the battery-life really depends on how you’re willing to spend on buying the batteries. The kit comes with a USB charging cord, but charging 18650 batteries in this way can damage the battery life. It’s recommended that you buy an external charger for 18650s. This is a powerful mod, so it’s worth buying decent batteries in order that you can keep a charge all day.

Tank:

The comes without a tank but it’s able to be fitted with a variety. It can take up to around 25ml. The has a 510 connector, meaning it’s quite versatile. The connector is positioned toward the front of the device, which not only makes the design look clumsy but also makes it difficult for larger to be fitted.

Coil:

Again, there is no included with the Puma. I had no trouble with it recognizing the I put in and once again, there is a large variety available.

 Airflow System:

Entirely dependent on the tank you choose to install.

Usability and Tank Installation:

This is a very usable device. The buttons are all firm and responsive and the ergonomic positioning of them makes it intuitive to use and very easy for one-handed use.The tank installation is simple. If you’ve ever installed a tank, you are able to do this with no problem.

Insulation:

Really good. I used this for a while, creating some massive clouds and there was only some slight heat around the base of the tank.

Software:

The software is the where the really shines. The screen is pretty tiny but crams a fantastic amount of information in. You have displays for both batteries, ohms, wattage, and puff-meter. Navigating the menu is extremely intuitive and the buttons to control are firm and reactive.

Price:

The price for the itself is really not too bad. It’s a powerful machine and it’s well-built and tough. This by no means a starter mod. It’s designed for people who know what they want and it offers them the power they need. Obviously, the overall price to get this device can vary significantly depending on the other components you want in it.
